After breakfast, we visit Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the most beautiful limestone caves in Northern Vietnam. Inside, the temperature cools and the world becomes quiet except for the sound of footsteps echoing beneath ancient rock formations shaped over millions of years.
From there, we hike gently up to Phat Tich Truc Lam Pagoda, where the view opens across Ban Gioc Waterfall, the Quay Son River, and the surrounding mountains. A peaceful place to pause before the journey continues.
By late morning, we arrive at Ban Gioc Waterfall itself.
Here, the water flows powerfully across the borderlands between Vietnam and China, surrounded by emerald rice fields and limestone cliffs. We take a boat ride close to the falls, where the mist, the sound of rushing water, and the scale of the landscape make the moment feel almost unreal.
After lunch in Trung Khanh, the road leads us deeper into the quiet valleys of Cao Bang to visit Angel Eye Mountain and the nearby lake of Thang Hen. Hidden between limestone peaks, this place carries a calm and untouched beauty that feels far removed from the outside world.
